A year ago the Chicago emcee, Famous Dex announced his highly anticipated album ‘Dex Meets Dexter’, and his debut album is finally on its way.
The Rich Forever Records signee’s forthcoming album is part of the most hoped-for this year and was confirmed few days ago with the release of an official album trailer. After dropping ‘pick it up‘ , the promotional single to the upcoming release featuring A$AP Rocky, the rapper can luxuriate to release a trailer pairing two versions of himself sizing each other up with a potential unreleased track part of the album is playing :
“I just popped a Xan, fifty thousand in Japan. I ain’t do no plan, these red bottoms are no Vans. If she (is) telling all her friends, I might put them on the (Insta)Gram. Dexter. Baby girl, what (are) you doing? where is your man?”
Joined by none other than Adam Grandmaison from No Jumper to separate the two clones from pushing each other. The famous host asks Dexter; ‘what is he beating himself for? before handing him a blunt which seems to reconciliate their differences in some schizophrenic circumstances.
In a recent interview with Complex, the rapper explained that Dex is the saucy version of him, while Dexter is more the crazy part of his character. During the encounter with Eric Diep, he referred to Wiz Khalifa as being his favorite artist and that his Taylor Allderdice‘s mixtape inspired him to add interview skits throughout the record, which could induce possible conversations between both alter-egos.
At the end of the trailer, Dex previews footage from a possible ‘Pick it up‘ official videoclip, which has reached 5 million views on YouTube and is currently ranking #46 in the US Apple Music Top Song.
