‘Industry’ : The Videoclip That Allegedly Led To Gee Money’s Death

Published

on

Baton Rouge rapper Da Real Gee Money was pronounced dead after being shot on Dallas Drive early Sunday. Police spokesman, Sgt. Don Coppola reported that, 22 years old Garrett Burton was shot to death on the 1900 block of Baton Rouge’s Dallas Drive at 1:30 am. According to The Advocate, Police have yet to identify any suspects.

The recent beef with Never Broke Again‘s affiliate YoungBoy could have escalated on a street level and played a part in the execution of the young talented Emcee as his latest music video ‘Industry‘ was a response to the ongoing situation he had with NBA Youngboy.

In a recent interview with Say Cheese TV (August 14th) , Gee Money claimed Youngboy, who use to be his label mate at one point and who he refered to as his lil partna, was after his rise to fame was mad at Gee Money for having sex with his sister a long time ago. In the ‘industry’, the deceased emcee accusing him of sneak dissin rapped about YB’s sister, launching the feud to another level of disrespect :

‘Your sister swallowed nut, so I never kissed her
But I fuck with her, so I never dissed her’

In the song, Gee Money claims the only reason he wouldn’t kill him, was to the fact that he knew his mom.

‘You Sherhonda son, I can’t kill you’

Earlier this year, he was part of the list of ‘12 Baton Rouge rappers you should know‘ XXL released and was on the rise to fame. Once again it deeply sadden us that street violence led to death and tragedy striked again in Baton Rouge’s hip hop community. Our prayers goes to his family and friend.
