Is The Sample Behind XXXtentacion’s ‘Look At Me’ Cleared ?

We lately found where Rojas and Jimmy Duval got the XXXtentacion’s ‘Look At Me’ sample from !!! but could X get sued by the mala for sampling his record …

The track is the anthem to a generation and has been played at the 4 corners of the world for a year now. The success of XXXtentacion‘s smash hit ‘Look At Me‘ isn’t to be prove anymore, with more than 85 million plays on soundcloud for the track only !!! the subject had us wondering how the instrumental was actually done and how Rojas and Jimmy Duval achieved the reference song to the underground scene for 2016-17.

Meditation Music !!!

After searching for it throught the web, it appears that the main theme to the track was taken from a mystic meditation song from artist Mala from Digital Mystikz which was originally released ten years ago through DEEP MEDi Musik and seems to have a legit copyright.

But what is actually going down behind closed doors, has Mala reached out to the Member Only camp to get his cut ? or worth is he even aware of the sample ?

As the track is still ranked int the top 200 worldwide on spotify & Apple Music, there has to be some kind of royalties going out Mala‘s way, and when  you didn’t get the samples cleared right before releasing it you can sometimes see the artist filing copyright infrigment lawsuits against your a**.

First released in December 2015 and uploaded to Itunes in January 2016, the track was re-released and distributed by the industry quiet music giant, Empire Distribution but despite the fact that he is actually mentioned as a contributor under his real name Mark Lawrence, doesn’t prove that a lawsuit could not be addressed to the young floridian Emcee.

But this time it wasn’t the case we reached out to Rojas who guaranted that Empire and their lawyers had clered the sample, but didn’t answer how the agreement .

We reached out to him to know what is really going down and how much did he actually makes from the track … To be continued

Who also sampled it ?

Actually the sample was already used in 2013 for Game’s freestyle called ‘Holy Water’.
