John Legend Reveals “Bigger Love” Cover Art & Tracklist

Published

on

John Legend is gearing up to drop his new album, Bigger Love, next week, and to get his fans amped up, he’s shared the beautiful cover art and tracklist, which includes features from Jhené Aiko, Rapsody, and more. John confirmed back in March that he had a new album on the way, and now the release date is fast approaching. On Friday (June 12th), John took to Instagram to unveil the cover art for Bigger Love, painted by “brilliant artist” Charly Palmer, as well as the official tracklist which includes his “amazing featured guests.”

“I’m so excited to introduce my new album Bigger Love to the world,” John wrote. “This project has been a labor of love for me, something I’ve spent over a year conceiving and creating.  I poured my heart and soul into these songs and collaborated with some incredibly gifted co-writers, producers and musicians. The songs are inspired by the loves of my life:  my wife, my family and the rich tradition of black music that has made me the artist I am.” John goes on to note that he wrote and recorded the album before the Earth-shattering events of 2020.

“All of these songs were created prior to the world being rocked by a pandemic, prior to the latest police killings in the U.S. that sent so many to the streets in protest,” he explained. “During these painful times, some of us may wonder if it’s ok to laugh or dance or be romantic. Lately, the images of black people in the media have been showing us with knees on our necks, in mourning, or expressing our collective outrage. We feel all those emotions.” “But It’s important for us to continue to show the world the fullness of what it is to be black and human,” he continued. “Through our art, we are able to do that. This album is a celebration of love, joy, sensuality, hope, and resilience, the things that make our culture so beautiful and influential.” “I’m under no illusion that music can save the world or solve the world’s problems, but I’ve always turned to music to help me through tough times and I know many of you have done the same,” he concluded. “That’s why I couldn’t wait to release this album to the world. I debuted in 2004 with an album called Get Lifted. And now, as we enter the summer of 2020, I hope this new album can get you lifted again, fill your hearts with love and inspiration, give you something to dance to, something to hold hands to, something to make love to. A week from today, on June 19, I invite you to experience a Bigger Love.”

Chrissy did not hold back on how she felt about some of the tracks, but John appeared to be in on the joke, so all was well.

YoungBoy Never Broke Again Is Ready To Drop New Music

Published

on

As YoungBoy Never Broke Again tends to occupy the headlines through antics and romantic mishaps gone awry, it’s all too easy to forget that he’s a talented artist with a firm foothold on the digital streaming market; lest we forget, the young Baton Rouge rhymer is among YouTube’s dominant streamers, at least where the numbers are concerned.

Now, it would appear he’s gearing up to stage a triumphant return, teasing his first new music since 38 Baby 2, a mixtape that came with a caveat: “After Friday I’ll never release a song/album again until I’m in a better situation.” Luckily for fans of the dynamic young rapper, YoungBoy appears to have found the inner peace he was seeking, taking to Twitter to tease some promising intentions. “Should I drop ??” he asks, opening the floor to his fans to flood his mentions with compliments and well-wishes.

It’s unclear as to whether YoungBoy is ready to drop off another studio album, which would be his second release following 2018’s acclaimed Until Death Call My Name. We can only hope so, as YoungBoy seems to raise the bar for his studio music; there are many who believe his debut to be his strongest material thus far, and it would be interesting to see NBA pick up where it left off. What do you think — are you still on board for YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s new music?

Reginae Drops A Few Bars On Song She Recorded With Her Friends

Published

on

The apple doesn’t fall from the tree. Reginae Carter hasn’t expressed an active desire to become a rap star like her father Lil Wayne, but she’s surely had more experience in the booth than most. We can only imagine how many Weezy tracks Reginae Carter watched her father record, and with such an accomplished rapper as her dad, it only makes sense that she would have laid down a few bars of her own.

Recently, a clip of Regaine riding around in her car listening to her own song made its way to the internet. The public began to speculate whether or not Reginae was looking forward to a music career, and after The Shade Room reposted the clip, the blog’s followers had quite a bit to say. The critics swooped in heavily, so Reginae had to stop by the comment section to set a few things straight.

“I recorded this two years ago guys playing around with my friends,” Reginae commented. “But people in the comments know more than me so GO AWFFFF.” She looked like she was having a good time, so it didn’t matter much what anyone had to say. Check out the clip below.

His latest single is already heating up streaming services as Jaden Smith announces he has a new project on the horizon. The middle Smith child continues his music rise with “Cabin Fever,” and alternative-indie offering he dropped off on Friday (July 24). The 22-year-old artist chatted with MTV’s Fresh Out Live about his new single and shared that he’s readying a new album titled Cool Tape Volume 3.

“It’s completing the trilogy of the Cool Tape Volume 3’s and then it’s also kinda completing the trilogies of Syre and Erys at the same time. So it’s like, putting an end to two eras at once so that I can then go off into the future and into the next thing after that.” Jaden also shared how his dating life during quarantine inspired his latest single “Cabin Fever,” a track where he talks about getting a tad stir-crazy ad desiring to grab his love interest and take off.

“I kinda, you know, pulled this from some real-life experiences and also kinda dreamed it up in my head a little bit, cause I like to create stories around my music,” he said. “That’s kinda what the story of it is, and I’m really excited about it. I’m hoping that people can relate to it as well with having that person that you wanna see and then feeling like the whole world is stopping you from seeing them…literally.”
