Supreme just revealed its collaborative capsule collection with American photographer and film director, best known for her conceptual portraits, Cindy Sherman.

Born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey in 1954, Cindy Sherman is renowned for her cinematically composed self-portraits as invented characters. her work scrutinizes society’s stereotypes of the female iconography in the popular culture. Though her work does not adhere to any aesthetic, it is unified in the common theme of the fictionalized portrayals of women through the lenses of mass media.

Recently, She was part of the female artist who signed an opened letter pledging to fight against sexism in the art world gathering more than 1800 signatures from female artists who felt groped, infantilized threatened, intimidated and scorned by those in positions of power who control access to the art world.

Supreme’s creator and general moto has often been aligned with human right activist and the late post might have triggered Jebbia’s support.

She also drew lot of attention in the art sphere after her Instagram account was made public. The 60ish women has used the camera of her phone to morph into one character after another. leaving passionate critics wondering if her IG posts could be considered as new work?

For the occasion, the series include two limited edition skateboard decks featuring original artwork by Cindy Sherman and her signature on the top of it.
