Tesla’s Model S Reaches 400-Mile Autonomy Range

Published

on

Tesla has reached yet another milestone, and it’s certainly one of the company’s most impressive. The California electric carmaker announced this week that its popular Model S now has a single charge range of 400 miles, the only widely-available electric car to claim this achievement.

As of Monday, all North American Model S Long Range Plus vehicles will have an official EPA-rated range of 402 miles, representing a nearly 20% increase in range when compared to a 2019 Model S 100D with the same battery pack design. At launch in 2012, the Model S was said to have a range of 265 miles.

According to Tesla, it was able to achieve this 402-mile range feat through five specific measures: significant mass reduction; new wheels and tires; increased drive unit efficiency; maximized regenerative braking; and continued investment in supercharging.

Kanye West Reveals 2020 Running Mate, Confirms He Had COVID-19

Published

Anybody skeptical about Kanye West’s seemingly spur-of-the-moment announcement that he was running for President should wake up because it’s happening.

In an exclusive interview with Forbes, the recording artist/fashion designer spoke about his platform, revealing his running mate for the upcoming Presidential Election, clarifying which party he’s running for, speaking about a potential vaccine for the coronavirus, and more.

This upcoming election is one of the most important in recent memory. With his previous support of Donald Trump looming over everyone’s heads, West was quick to discuss whether he’s still a fan of the controversial forty-fifth President.

“I am taking the red hat off, with this interview,” he said, revealing that he is no longer on board with Trump’s ideals.

As for which platform he will be running for, West is creating his own. Calling it the Birthday Party, he has said that he’s already got support from Elon Musk and others, and that he’s running so he could win. “Like anything I’ve ever done in my life, I’m doing to win.”

His running mate will be Michelle Tidball, a preacher from Wyoming.

One of the most critiqued aspects of West’s late announcement has been the effect it will have on Joe Biden’s campaign. Many believe that West will only take away from the Black votes and those of young voters, hindering Biden’s campaign to a degree that would give Trump an easy win. He seems to be okay with that.

“I’m not denying it, I just told you. To say that the Black vote is Democratic is a form of racism and white supremacy,” said West about siphoning away the Black vote from Biden.

In addition, West said that he’s never voted in his life, and that he had coronavirus back in February. He has recovered but, apparently, he’s not entirely down with a COVID-19 vaccine. He called vaccines “the mark of the beast.”

His stance on abortion was also made clear, as he said that “Planned Parenthoods have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work.”

With all this said, will you be voting for Kanye West in the fall?

A figure in pop culture infamy has reportedly passed away at 58-years-old. Back in the late 1990s, you couldn’t go anywhere without hearing about Mary Kay Letourneau. In 1996, when she was 34-years-old, Letourneau was a schoolteacher who was engaging in a sexual relationship with her 12-year-old, sixth-grade student Vii Fualaau. While awaiting trial, Mark Kay Letourneau gave birth to Fualaau’s child, and she took a plea agreement that stated she would only spend a few months behind bars. She also was required to never have contact with Fualaau again.

However, upon leaving jail, she was caught with Fualaau inside of a vehicle and was sent to prison for seven years. She gave birth to Fualaau’s second child just months into her sentence. When she was released in 2004, she once again reunited with Fualaau and they married the following year. He petitioned the court to remove the mandate keeping them apart, however, she had to remain registered as a sex offender. The couple was together for over a decade before deciding to split.

According to reports, Mary Kay Letourneau quietly battled metastatic cancer before succumbing to the illness on Tuesday (July 7). “Mary, and all of us, found great strength in having our immediate and extended family members together to join her in this arduous struggle,” her family said in a statement. “We did our very best to care for Mary and one another as we kept her close and stayed close together.”

Charlamagne Tha God Is Getting His Own Talk Show

Published

on

Charlamagne Tha God is set to return to television. The  Breakfast Club  host has announced he will have his own weekly Comedy Central talk show, coming to screens in late autumn.

The details of the arrangement are currently being settled, but from what we know now, Charlamagne will have a weekly half hour segment focusing on current affairs and cultural issues. Although there is no official date set yet, the show’s producers hope to have it up-and-running in time for the presidential election in November.

Charlamagne’s new partnership with Comedy Central stems from his relationship with Chris McCarthy, the president of the Entertainment and Youth Group at Comedy Central’s parent company ViacomCBS. The two first worked together almost a decade ago, when McCarthy ran MTV2 and Charlamagne was a regular on the network’s breakout hit Guy Code.

“Charlamagne’s voice is very right for today,” McCarthy said, speaking on the newly announced series. “It’s fresh and real and resonating in a way that very few can do.”

Charlamagne says he and McCarthy began discussing ideas for a show right around the time McCarthy took over at Comedy Central. Their close personal relationship, he says, made coming to a business agreement a smooth process.

Charlamagne stated the show will “[talk] about the issues that are going on in the world,” with a cable news feel, reminiscent of acts like John Oliver and Bill Maher. He says it will not shy away from diving into sensitive subjects. “I’m in the business of asking the tough questions, and getting actual statements on how I see the world. And you can choose to agree or disagree. But a conversation will be started.”
