Scarlxrd, Meet With Hip Hop’s Most Violent Act.
Scarlxrd must be the most violent act in the scene. Hailing from England, the metal-influenced rapper plays extremely well with the codes and aims to push boundaries of the genre to another level.
With the early XXXTentacion tending to be sonically rough and violent, the English emcee takes it further while he sticks to the codes.
Defined by the distorted vocals, use of heavy guitar riffs from time to times to gives it its aggressive foundations, the trap elements connect the dots to make it fall under the rap category.
Flaunting his thousand-dollar outfit in his videos and lyrics, the former family friendly YouTuber whose use to publish video under the moniker of Mazzi Maz, has been fueling controversy in the underground partly due to his talent but also due to the comparison with Broward County superstar XXXTentacion.
Before his solo rap career, scarlxrd was part of rap-rock band Myth City in 2016, but month later Marcu ‘Maz’ Listhrop from his real name, created his scarlxrd alter-ego and released 7 mixtapes: Annx Dxmini, LXRD, Savixur, Rxse, Chaxsthexry and Cabin Fever.

Scarlxrd wears a black surgery face mask so he won’t be recognized and mainly due to his YouTube popularity. In fact the rapper was a YouTube superstar in England and has a recognizable mark under his chin. A White spot that might be sign of Vitiligo and that he wants to hide from people. Hard enough to maintain into a character, the UK savage doesn’t seem to want people to know about his past which doesn’t fit with the Scarlxrd character.

Alike his predecessors, the young Emcee follow the trends and codes dictated by the scene his own way. You could easily compare him to Playboi Carti & Tay-K but Lil Knight has his own blueprint and has a secret weapon too …
The Secret Weapon
Things gets a bit complicated but that’s how we first heard of BB Knight. Two days ago, Lil Xan released his brand new videoclip ‘Xanarchy’. The french brand Marché Noir has to be one of the most talked about emerging streetwear brand in the world. Largely inspired of old school Marithé designs, the french designers have come up with a new capsule collection for the Fall Winter 2017 release, which is a by far, the most efficient, yet classic, array of garment they ever dropped.
After the two day pop up in London, it was time for the Frenchies to pack up and head toward the French capital for a quick one near Place de la République.
3ème parrallèle might not be the biggest name in the gallerist world and you might have never heard of it, but it is located in a small street that kind of have that legitimate position in the urban streetwear world to set trends. Last time we were there was for ViceLand x Trasher tour last summer, and the shop was rented as part of the 2nd chapter of the day right before nightime, right after the skate contest. Anyway … Let me tell you … It’s trendy.
As of for the setup, a 40-square meter gallery with a curated storefrond emblazoned with the popular ‘M+RC’ logo on the leftside window and a tiny side-to-side sticker on the rightside one, which is more than adequate for the well-established brand
On display, is a piece of each items carrefuly organized but since we showed up late on the sunday afternoon, the tracksuit mid-zipper jacket and its trousers with the small sided tags are long gone. However, the quality of the fabric on both clothes and accessories is incredible and after a quick look around the shelves, it wasn’t an urban legend that they perfectly captured the essence of what streetwear has to propose and synthetized it with taste in different pattern.
Singularity is the key, and the small ‘M+RC’ patch has the same effect on people, I guess, as the Supreme legendary ‘Box Logo’.
While sitting back and looking at the kids in the store trying on, what will be their next grail, I was impressed that a French Brand could make it this far in a market that is generally dictated by American brand.
Meeting with the whole crew was one of a kind experience, as the walls only reverberated, beside of the background music, the staff talking about the underground streetwear industry and their next destination.
It was clear, they were thrilled to go back to Asia.
Cause Marché noir isn’t only a brand, but a 360-concept which masters the Ostensible demarketing strategy to its extent. That dominate this very secretive little underground world and that’s why popular models such as Ian Connor, Wake up sasha and Osiris are featured in their lookbooks.
This is hard work that pays-off. From their humble beginning to their star-stud Hollywood lifestyle, the young creators had the chance to link up with the biggest names in the hip hop industry, and accentuate through garment the artists’ musical vision.
