XXXTentacion’s Mother Countersues “Look At Me” Producer

Published

on

The mother of the late rapper XXXTentacion has filed a countersuit against a music producer and former friend of the rapper who is suing his estate for $2 million.

The original lawsuit was filed by producer Duval, whose real name is Jimmy Duval. He filed the suit in conjunction with Stache Records, believing that he did not receive royalties owed to him on songs he and the rapper recorded together, nor did he receive proper songwriting and producing credit.

In the countersuit, the rapper’s mother Cleopatra Bernard is asking the court not only to dismiss the claims of Duval but also to provide her attorney fees. She insists that the royalties that Duval are claiming were given to an artist named Mala, who successfully argued that he was the copyright owner of the song in question.

She further says that the credit aspect of the lawsuit is based on a misunderstand Duval has of how the music business operates.

In her filing, Bernard says:

“Defendants also allege that Duval did not receive an appropriate producer credit for his production work on the Recording. However, Defendants’ claim reveals a complete lack of understanding as to the music industry’s current mechanism for attributing producer credits. It is undisputed that the Recording was only released digitally. It is well known that, up until very recently, the vast majority of digital content providers, such as Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, SoundCloud, etc., did not have a mechanism by which producers could be credited.”

The latest creation from Nike‘s familial design duo of Tobie and Tinker Hatfield, the Air Max 90 FlyEase is an inclusive, adaptive lifestyle design that’s all about ease of entry and removal. It first debuted around Air Max Day 2020, and has since released in a handful of vibrant styles — the latest of which is a patriotic white, blue and red.

Almost all of the design pieces from the original Air Max 90 are left intact. Toeboxes and quarters are dressed in white mesh and leather, respectively, while plastic eyestays are split between navy and red. Tongues continue the navy and red mixture, while blue mudguards and red Swooshes provide signature Nike Sportswear flair. For a finishing touch, the heel’s recognizable Air Max unit is surrounded by red EVA foam.

Drakeo The Ruler Drops “GTA VI” & “Backflip Or Sumn” Recorded From Prison

Published

Drakeo The Ruler is still incarcerated, awaiting a retrial in connection with a murder case that he was already acquitted for.

On July 25, 2019, he was acquitted of his murder and attempted murder charges in a Compton courthouse. However, the district attorney decided to refile charges of criminal gang conspiracy and shooting from a motor vehicle in August, two counts that resulted in a hung jury during his initial trial.

However, he will not let that get in his way as he continues to be one of West Coast’s most promising and original voices, and now back with two new singles recorded through jail phones from forthcoming ‘Thank You for Using GTL’ project.

“GTA VI” and “Backflip Or Sumn” have became instantaneously two must-listen-to songs that thrive to introduce his upcoming 18-track effort ‘Thank You For Using GTL’ inspired by the raps he sent to producer JoogSzn over the inmate telephone systems used in for-profit prisons. However the grainy voice still rides the beat with ease.

Earlier this week, Drakeo dropped his “Vintage & Adventurous” including the not-so-subtle shot at the early release of a particular New York-based rapper. “Tell the truth, I am not 6ix9ine,” he proclaims. A number of collaborators teamed up to remix his greatest hits on Free Drakeo earlier this year including guest appearances by Danny Brown and Maxo Kream.

Earl Sweatshirt held absolutely nothing back when he blessed the “Ion Rap Beef” Remix, opening with a defiant, “F*ck the D.A., free the Ruler/ Sex cancelled, I went right for that medulla/ Talkin’ spicy hella easy, n*ggas hide behind computers.”
